TREVIOS CIP software enables you to pool CIP topics in a topic archive. These can be evaluated and processed by CIP teams. Workshops are conducted on the topics by CIP teams. Actions can be developed and implemented within the workshops.

The software assists the CIP moderator at all stages of the process – from identifying topics to implementing measures and actions. The moderator is supported by a series of tools, which can be drawn upon for the root cause analysis and solution finding process.

Central topic and action lists give an overview of all current topics and actions.

An interface to the TREVIOS Ideas Management module facilitates the transfer of topics to the suggestion system.

CIP topic archive

All CIP topics are pooled and processed in the central topic archive. The topics can be supplemented here with any kind of data.

Figure 1: Date of each topic can be captured and attachments can be added.

Topics can be defined by CIP teams or individual employees and evaluated in a topic forum. CIP teams can conduct workshops on the topics in specified steps. Topics on hold migrate to the topic archive, where they remain available for future processing.

CIP teams

The TREVIOS software permits the flexible creation and administration of the CIP teams. Teams can be created and assigned to the topics that are in line for processing. Roles, such as team spokesperson, may be allocated within each team.

Figure 3: CIP teams are managed easily. Topics can be assigend and roles can be allocated.

CIP teams are also in the position to acquire for processing topics from the topic archive that have not yet been assigned. In addition, the software enables teams and information distributors to be created within the processing system.

CIP workshops

The processing of the topics by the CIP teams takes place in workshops. The number of workshops needed for a topic is not limited here.

Regardless of whether one or more workshops are required to process a topic, the data from all the workshop sessions are saved in versions.

Within the workshops, actions are developed by the CIP team. The available tools designed for the root cause analysis and solution process support the team here.

Measures / actions

Target-based actions are developed in the workshops by the CIP team. The CIP moderator may assign these for processing to individual team members.

Figure 4: Measures can be scheduled and initiated.

The appointed team members will then process the actions in individual stages. All the processing steps from the initiation of the action until the evaluation of its effectiveness can be controlled and tracked via the software.

Figure 5: Measures are processed by responsible team members.

The type of information that should be captured for an action can be freely defined and even extends to complete reproduction of the PDCA cycle in the action processing.

Tools for root cause analysis and solution finding

(1) Cause - (2) Solution - (3) Action: the software supports the user by graphically identifying causes in a cause-and-effect (Ishikawa) diagram. Causes can be evaluated and/or colour-coded in terms of their importance.

Any number of solutions can be proposed for each cause. A 5-Why tool supports the progression from cause to solution.

Figure 7: Infering solutions

The solutions found can be evaluated, classified and included as an action.
